2026 YOUTH FISHING DERBY THANK YOUS
The annual Youth Fishing Derby was held on Saturday, June 20th at the Westfield Fish and Game Club. It was another AWESOME event with 113 children participating! There is nothing better than seeing the huge smiles on children’s faces as they catch a fish!

Thanks to the Westfield Fish and Game Club and all its members and specifically the following volunteers: Kelley Issler, John Issler, Frank Cole, Dan Scarber, Kat Scarber, Nate Scarber, Fred Scarber, Ron Catalano, Kelly Brown, Carol Brown, Mike Cluchey, Kristie Parnell, Ron Erskine, and Lacey Issler.
Thanks to the following student volunteers who helped: Chris Bowen & Desiree Bowne. Thanks as well to Club America of Jamestown for coming to the event and setting up a table. Thanks to the Chautauqua County Federation of Sportsmen for their donations of fishing poles that served as amazing prizes to our participants.
The top three heaviest fishes and the participants who caught them for each age group are listed below. Finally, thanks again to all the wonderful children who participated as well as their families. It was a special day and we cannot wait until next year!

KIDS YOUTH FISHING DERBY ON SATURDAY, JUNE 20TH

Kids and their parents are welcome to come fish and have fun at the annual Kids Fishing Derby! This event is free and open to the public.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided-feel free to bring your own lunch also.

Prizes divided into three age groups
4 yrs – 8 yrs
9 yrs – 12 yrs
13 yrs -- 15 yrs
Bait is provided
All ages are welcome to come to fish and have fun!!!
This event is for children ages 5 through 12 and is held typically on the third Saturday of June at the Westfield Fish & Game Club on Ogden Road. The event is held from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m..
- This is a FREE event.
- This event is co-sponsored by the Westfield Fish & Game Club and the Westfield Recreation Department.
- This event is split into three different groups: 4-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds and 13-15 year olds.
- Participants have fun fishing in the two ponds at the Westfield Fish & Game Club. As they catch fish, they bring them up the hill to the pavilion to get weighed. Those with the heaviest fishes will get first picks of the prizes.
- We provide a lunch for all participants and their family members. Prizes are also given out to all participants.
- This is an event in which WACS students can gain community service hours.
